Jackson County Pulse Your source for Mass Media!

Jackson County Pulse is an independent, volunteer-driven news and watchdog group based in Jackson County, Wisconsin. We are not affiliated with any political party, government agency, or special interest. We represent you—the residents who deserve transparency, accountability, and a voice in how your community is run. Our mission is to expose what’s hidden, question what’s ignored, and ensure the people are always informed.

What We Do

At Jackson County Pulse, we specialize in investigative journalism, public accountability, and government transparency with a focus on small-town Wisconsin. Our mission is simple: make public information truly public and shine a light on the issues others won’t touch.

We dive deep into the public records others overlook. Using Wisconsin’s Open Records Law, we file strategic requests to access internal emails, contracts, jail reports, law enforcement activity, council meeting notes, and more. We analyze these documents line-by-line, connecting the dots between decisions made in the dark and the real-life impact on your community.

How We Work

At Jackson County Pulse, we believe facts speak louder than spin. Here’s how we uncover the truth and keep our community informed:

  • We file public records requests to access the documents others ignore
  • We review agendas, meeting minutes, budgets, and government contracts
  • We publish original, fact-based reporting and bold opinion pieces rooted in research
  • We provide a platform for community tips, whistleblowers, and concerned residents

We follow the paper trail, connect the dots, and share what matters - because your right to know doesn’t expire.

Why It Matters

In small communities, silence isn’t just passive- it’s protection for the powerful. At Jackson County Pulse, we exist to break that silence and create a space where truth is louder than politics, and facts speak louder than fear.

When public trust is strained, when decisions are made behind closed doors, and when accountability feels out of reach—that’s where watchdog journalism matters most. We believe that rural Wisconsin deserves the same transparency and scrutiny as any major city. Local officials hold real power, and with that comes real responsibility.

Transparency isn’t a privilege - it’s your right.
Accountability doesn’t happen quietly - it starts with exposure.

By spotlighting what’s hidden, questioning what’s vague, and publishing what others won’t, we empower our readers with the information they need to speak up, get involved, and push back. Because when a community knows the truth, it’s harder for corruption, misconduct, or negligence to survive.

The Pulse is more than a platform. It’s a movement - one built on curiosity, courage, and the belief that the people of Jackson County deserve answers.
